Get hooked! It's fun!

« on: January 14, 2012, 11:10:46 AM »

I've completed the baby blanket and sweater and hat set.  The blanket I started last Monday and completed it on Saturday, 1/8/12, at 10:00 AM.  Again, just in time for the shower at 1:00 PM.  The sweater set I started Monday and completed this morning.  The blanket, I know everyone is pretty aware of the pattern.  The Sweater Set is a pattern from Leisure Arts, "Beautiful Baby Layettes" and the number on the back is #3136.  I know I've had this blooklet for quite some time.  I believe I got it about 15-20 years ago.  I'm one of those, if I like a pattern, I'll buy it.  I might not make it right away, but I figure that if I make something from each blooklet/book, I've gotten my monies worth.  Here it is, 15-20 years later and I'm finally making one of the sweater sets.  I also did a stash buster.  I used yarn that I had for probably about the same time.  I bought it at Ames for $2.99 a skein (3-ply 85% acrylic, 15% rayon), net weight 6 oz., machine washable and dryable, mothproof, nonallergenic.  It's Natura Wintuk Pomopadour Ultra Soft Baby Yarn.  I had a skein of each color in the blanket.   I enjoyed using yarn from my stash.  The ribbon that I used for the ties were also stash busted.........   Yeah!!!!!!!!!!

If I come across a booty pattern I like, I'll make them and add them to the set too.

Shocked Grin  What a wonderful set, Doreen!!!  I love each piece and the blanket is so nice.  Love the colors of the yarns!!!  The color combo in the blanket is so pretty and so cheerful.  What size is the sweater set?

The sweater set is just precious.  I have made several baby blankets in this pattern too.  Great job on all.
