Sad  Wish I could help but so far I have not had to resort to online buying.  I can't afford the expensive yarns anyway and what I do use is easily enough found at WalMart, Joann's, Michaels's, and Ben Franklin etc. These 4 are in my local area.  No Hobby Lobby or AC Moore around me.  Are there any of them that are reasonably close to you?  The shipping for online purchases can be a killer.  Here is a link for the one site I kept going back to that looked pretty decent when I was checking for online shopping but the prices have gone up just in the last couple of months.  Their sale prices are still higher than what I pay at Walmart. http://www.knitting-warehouse.com/

Western KY (not the school, the western part of the state) is totally lame. There's a hobby lobby an hour from me and the only other thing I have is walmart. But the Walmarts around here have stopped carrying thread, embroidery thread, and I think yarn. Luckily the one in my town hasn't yet but their selection has dwindle quite a bit so I'm worried they're going in that direction. I'll be living in a bigger city in May so I'll have access to much better stores. I tend to buy a LOT online since there's not much around here

Where are you in Western Kentucky?  My Mom's family were all from KY.  My husband and I plan to move there but are on hold while my 90 yr old parents are still nearby.  Can't and wouldn't  leave them.  One day we will get there.  KY roots are in Paducah.   Grin

I'm right next to there in Murray, I hate KY, don't like small towns. Louisville is nice though

I have ordered several times from Knitting-Warehouse and they ship fast and accurate.  Last time they had a flat shipping rate of $5.99.  I have only bought the Caron One Pounder from them.  At one time they were very reasonable on the price but have gone way up.  Still cheaper than Michaels and much larger selection of colors.  Michaels doesn't carry a wide variety of color in the Caron One Pounder and I like crocheting with Caron.  They are higher than Michaels and Walmart on the rest of their yarn.  I know you can buy directly from Caron.  Also Joann's sells  on the internet and they run good deals on their yarn and shipping.  Have never ordered from them though.

Paducah Kentucky? Oh My, a woman that was a cook where I work came from Paducah, her name was---Treelady---yes, you are reading that right, Treelady. She said she legally changed her name for personal reasons, but didn't explain why. She was very interesting and smart--a Mensa member, and also a very good cook. I haven't talked to her for some time now because I have no idea where she is.  BTW----start any socks yet? Grin Shocked

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Shocked Shocked Shocked Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes  Just NO getting away from that sock issue, is there!!!???  I will have to go and hide in KY until I can get those socks at least started.  It isn't ever really "winter" there like it is here though so the socks would be much slower in coming along.  Got plenty of crochet socks though if you wanna see 'em.  HAHA.  Sure nice to see you here.   Grin
