This week, I saw DMC Crochet Thread on sale for $1 at walmart.

you have Got to be kidding!  They didn't have any (let alone for a dollar) here when I went a week or so ago.

Ok---managed to get to WalMart today.  RH fleck is running out fast and at 2 /$4.  Picked up a couple more skeins of that since the entire yarn section is very depleted and it appears none is being re-stocked.  MAYBE that is because the renovations and addition of the supercenter will soon be taking space in the craft dept. and the craft stock will be moved to a different area.  I can only hope that is the explanation.  NO re-stock of cotton threads and yarns.  Very diminished supply.  The ONLY DMC I found was 3 hanks of "Baroque" #10 ecru for 1.50 (clearanced at only 50 cents off).  Most of the Bernat has been clearanced and sold already also.  Coned cotton is virtually gone and no re-order coming.  Did they lie or is it just for the moment??  Plenty of fabrics still available and AISLES of artificial flowers

That reminds me...I did see an increase in the peaches and cream cotton..new great colors.  However, I noticed when I picked up a cone of cotton, it seemed light...I looked on the Price tag thingy...and it said 14 oz..they only had one 16oz cone left..........seems they are going to 14 oz now rather than 1 lb cones!  Also...all the fleck was sold out when I went and I was unhappy as I need more claret fleck to finish my bag........I'm sooooooooo hoping there will be more next week!!!

Oh my gosh, Bende!  I did get a couple of cones of cotton (running low on the colors I am using for bags also and in a panic it might run out....)  and I did pay the new price (6.97 ---up from 6.64).  I just checked and the cones are the full 16 oz. BUT these were from the older stock and simply re-priced.  NOW I will be on the look-out next time to see the weight.  I am betting it will be the 14 oz. that you saw.  Gasoline may be coming down but everything else keeps going up ---for less product!  We never have had the RH claret fleck (which Is why I went there today---to look for it again) and there is no sign of any coming in.   I sure hope you find some at your end.  OH!  Did you see any of the bamboo thread?!  They had a few balls of it here---Aunt Lydia's bamboo # 10.  It sure was soft!  #300yd for 2.97.  Nope.  I did not get any.  Blew my rock bottom (in the hole) yarn budget on the "emergency" items.

No, I didn't see any of the bamboo....but will look closer next time to see if it's there....
