CORTICELLI!

I had to run errands and do other yucky stuff today and am I ever glad I did!  Had to wait for prescriptions at Walmart so OF COURSE I hit the yarns dept. for a "quick look see".  OMG!  A HUGE selection of Peaches and Cream cotton  in one pound cones at 6.64 ea.  I have never seen so much cotton and so many cones in one store (certainly nowwhere in MY neck of the woods or anywhere remotely near home.  Every color of the rainbow from light to dark and in variagated as well as solids.  Not just the many shades of pastels but a myriad of the jewel tones, too.  (The one called"Flair" is awesome and the first time I have seen it).  Talk about a "rush"!  I asked the salesgal if it had just come in yesterday and she said yes---and there is MORE coming by the first of the week!  I almost grabbed a pillow and blanket from the bedding dept. so as to just camp out until the next truck arrives.  Heaven only knows what I might miss if I am not there when the new stuff is put out on the shelves.  But, I bit the bullet (sigh) and went home to feed the dogs (oh, yeah, the husband, too Cheesy).  ADDICTED TO COTTON and cones and am on cloud nine.  Anybody else seeing this at your Walmarts???  Mine is just a little store so I am knocked out with all of this.

Mine is a little store also.  I was there Friday and  there really wasn't alot of choice in the cone cotton...not like what you have!  I've been waiting and waiting for some DIFFERENT color choices..........Maybe my store's shipment just hadn't gotten in yet! Grin  Fingers crossed that I'll get the same surprise you did next time I go back!  It must have killed you to walk away from it without indulding!

The Peaches and Cream at Walmart is actually 30 cents less than it was a few months ago, Ann.  And, when I can even find the cotton cones at any of the stores---there is very limited quantity and not the great selection of colors.  The other stores carry the much pricer brands ( 8.00 to 12.00!!!) as well.  I have had no complaints with the Peaches and Cream.  Walmart's cotton is quite a thrill comparatively speaking. Carol Ann - I gotten the same kind of thread as well.  LOL  After I make several blankets for some of my family, I'll start learning how to make dollies.

Good for you Andrea!  Isn't it a thrill to find that stuff!?  I guess some of us got lucky with the availability.  Anxious to hear how you do with the doily making.
