I was wondering if anyone on here lived near Erie, PA?  Reason I ask is that I have 58+ balls of crochet thread, I believe most if not all is size #10.  I bought a huge box at a yard sale about 5 years ago, but I am unable to crochet with thread.  It is just too small for my arthritic fingers.  Problem is, the box of thread weighs about 13 pounds.  To ship to California would cost over $100 US mail.  Included is:

9 mostly used balls of thread
35 somewhat used balls of thread
23 new balls of thread which include: 8 matching peach, 5 matching ecru, plus others

I am willing to give this away for free, but would rather not pay high shipping charges.  So if you live near Erie, PA, or close enough to make the drive, I will give to you for free.  If I don't find any takers on here, then I will be listing this on Craig's List.  If I get more than one interested person, then I will put the names in a hat and pick one, unless you would want to split the stash.

I would be interested also.  I would be willing to forward you postage and also pay for them.  Just let me know what you would like.  I love to crochet with thread and know that I just started knitting, I am anxious to tray to knit a lace doily.  Never did that before but am willing to give it a try.

Wow.  UPS Ground from Erie to California is only $23.00 and would take 4 days.  I guess I'll just start collecting names to draw out of a hat, as long as you are willing to pay for the shipping.  I have a paypal account, and can go to the local UPS office in person to send the thread out.

okay ladies, I had three interested parties, so I took three cat threats, carved a one, two or three into each treat, tossed them on the floor and the one Dusty went to first was the winner.  lv2crochet was #1, dlfoxy was #2 and larakn was #3.

drum roll please...

#2 is the winner!  Woohoo!  unless you're the cat treat.  Dusty really devoured that thing  ;-)

Thank you very much.  What an original idea for picking a winner.   Maybe your kitty knows how much I love cats and dogs.  I have 3 dogs 'Angel', 'Sophie' and 'Katie' (2 'Angel and Katie' of which we rescued) and one cat 'Zero' (which we adopted from the neighbor who wasn't feeding him anymore) at the moment.

I'm sorry that you other ladies didn't win but I will post some of the things that I make.  My plate is pretty full with things right now, (2) doiles in #10 thread, (1) sweater in Caron Simply Soft, (1) Sweater being knitted for myself, (1) Baby Set (starting with the hat) being knitted too.

I'm looking forward to making some more doilies and alot of Christmas Ornaments.  I haven't made ornaments in about 16 years and am looking forward to it.  I'm also looking forward to making some of the Monogram Bookmarkers which I purchased the patterns from e-patterns.

There just isn't enough hours in a day with working full time (plus OT).  Lately my 1 1/2 at Boy Scouts has been diverted to hand sewing on Boy Scout patches fo the boys that are going to 2010 Jamboree.   They also asked to make a cover for one of their skillets and I also am working on re-pairing/replacing feathers in their Indian Head-dresses....always being busy doing something and for a great cause.

Again, thank you mlmoore3.

And God Bless!

dlfoxy,
I'll still need your mailing address so I can send out the thread.  You can email it to me at [email protected].

Hope things are working out. I'm not and was never interested and I don't need thread, but I thought I'd tell you I live a state away. Just randomness.
