Can anyone please help me? I'm new to crochet and would love to have a go at doing a few washcloths for the bathroom. However can anyone recommend where I can get the appropriate cotton in all shades of colours? I've purchased some but it's very fine and not the right type, I'm really struggling as there are so many varieties of cotton and wool I'm getting confused

So almost a year ago, we had a JoAnn's open up here in the town that I work in. I have not been real happy with it mainly because I just haven't been doing much sewing and their crochet/yarn area is not that great. Well now I have something new to look forward to and hoping that I will not be disappointed - they are opening a Hobby Lobby up smack dab in between where JoAnn's is and where Michael's is. They are saying the building will be done by early Winter. They are also opening a Michael's in the city where I live so I don't have to drive so far on the weekends if I need something. It should be open in the Fall. Yay for me but not good for the wallet!
