Undecided Does anyone have any tips or websites that may help me to understand how to crochet from a chart/graph. I am clueless to this, however I have several great patterns I want to do that require the chart.

Thanks

Hi, newgrannie!  here is another site tutorial for filet / graphed crochet work to add to Bende's: http://www.smartcrochet.com/lesson1.shtml

and another:  http://www.hassdesign.com/BasicFiletTechniques/

and another:  http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa050298.htm

and another:  http://www.crochetcabana.com/specialty/filet_crochet.htm  The above are suggested sites by crochetcabana and this one is her own tutorial.

So basically in order to do a design based on a graph you have to first learn the filet Smiley

its not only filet that requires a graph some crochet patterns use charts with symbols for the stitches once you recognise these symbols it is quite easy to follow
i have used this type and i increase(photocopy/scan) the size of the chart so it is easy to see
and i use a marker to define worked rows hope this is of help to you
