Good morning all,
My name is Francine...I'm new to crocheting. I found this forum this morning looking for help. I really enjoy crocheting and I'm excited about making different items. I made a hat last week with the help of someone. I do not understand the instructions. I'm lost trying to read them. I have a pattern for a hat that I made. I would like to make it the correct way. There are 14 rows. I understand rows 1 through 11 (because I got help) I do not understand rows 12-14. Can anyone help me? Does anyone have the patient to teach me how to read and understand instructions. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Francine

Hi, I have been getting help from Deb. She said she is going to make one and we work on it together. She had to log off for a while. I thought I was doing it right but it leaves me with a gap. I don't understand the * and () Deb help me to understand a little more which is great. I'm still stuck tho.

Rnd 12 tells me I should end up with 36 clusters total. The way I'm reading it I end up with 31. I know I'm getting close.

blessedmom has picked herself a confusing pattern. If I hadn't worked it up myself I don't think I would have been able to help her.Reads like a Canandian pattern! (no hate mail please,I lived most of my life as a neighbor to Canada and love you all. LOL But,if you have ever worked up an old Paton pattern, you know what I am talking aboot!)

Hello all,
Are you saying there are other patterns out there that are much easier to understand? I would love to see them. I would like to make a nice hat and scarf to match. Even anyone have a nice pattern for beginners please send it my way. I would appreciate it. You all have a wonderful day!

The homepage is here: http://www.crochethappyforum.comThen scroll down and you'll see on the left it will say "Crochet Patterns"...and listed under that is "baby/kids/toddlers", then "afghans", "wearables"....just scroll down a bit more and you'll see "beginner Patterns"
