My name is Pat.  I live out on the east end of Long Island, NY.  I have 3 married children and 7 grandkids.  My son is a Marine and thankfully just got his honorable discharge after serving for 16 yrs. and having 2 deployments to Iraq.  I've been crocheting since I'm 19 and keep myself busy making lion pillows for the children of our deployed soldiers and children who are sick or in a stressful situation.  I do a bit of knitting, but have trouble with dropped stitches, etc.  I stumbled upon this forum and loved looking through it.  So happy to be here  .

Hi, Pat!    Glad to see you here.  I am a military Mom, also.  And I have dropped more knitting stitches than I want to admit or even remember.   Crochet is a lifelong passion though and this Forum is one of the best there is.  visit often.

Hello and welcome to a great forum.  Our second son was in the Marines too but has been out for a long time and now just found out that a grandson has enlisted in the Marines.  Have a nephew that was in the Marines for 8 years too.

Thank you all for such a warm welcome.  Nice to see some military families too.  Crochet does take some of the stress off deployments, etc. .  My prayers are with you all for the safety of our troops.  I'm so happy to be here
