Thought I'd register and say "hello".  I've enjoyed reading some on the forum.  I took up crocheting late in life.  It was one of the those things that had been in the back of my mind, which I'd always wanted to do.  A few years ago, I decided to start working on that list.  It's delightful to be doing those things now.

My mother is still a wonder with a needle of any kind.  So, even though I'm a bit of a permanent beginner, having all the stitches be even, and the work be smooth and attractive is, of course, a high priority.

I enjoy being able to make things which others can use, and know that someone cared enough to make something for them.  I used to make lap robes for folks in nursing homes.  As those got to be too large to do, I switched to scarves for shelters and preemie blankets, for donating things.

I enjoy how restful handwork is, how portable and quiet my hook and thread or yarn are.  Crocheting is a lovely part of life.  I find it regenerative and soothing.

Am looking forward to the forum.  Smiley

Welcome Aunt Em!

How wonderful that you are doing those things you always wanted to do.
You are so right, crocheting is very relaxing (as long as the pattern is easy! Cheesy)
Its especially great to bless someone with your handywork!
Hope to see pics of your work soon, we love pictures here Grin

Thank you for your kind welcomes.

I am learning how to use a new camera.  It may take awhile before I figure it out.  I belong to the 35mm, instamatic generation, which was a great change from those Kodak Brownie box cameras.   Wink

Hello and welcome.  I still use the 35 mm camera.  Haven't tried a digital camera, yet.
