Grin  Hello and Welcome!  Glad you found us.  I don't do so well with reading patterns myself so absolutely do not feel like a dork.  Cheesy  Can you describe the link issue?  Is it a link on this Forum?

Welcome to the Forum from North Wales, PA!

No problem or question is weird in this forum.  Everyone is so nice and so very helpful.  I thought I could read patterns and understand them until a recently got the Irish Cable Shawl pattern.  I was just tiddly with it to see what one of the motif's looks like and I can't get through the edging of it.  So you are not a dork for not being able to read a pattern.  It happens to everyone.  If the ladies here can help you, they will.  They especialy love a good hunt for patterns.  So, join in and ask all the questions you want.  Someone will help you if they can.

Welcome to the group!!  Look forward to seeing your work.  I'm the oppostite, got to have a pattern, I am totally lost by diagrams, like totally totally, they make me insane, & usually end is swearing and/or crying before I throw yarn, hook and all into the bin where projects go to die (then I have to go back when I've calmed down to find my hook).

If it doesn't have a written pattern I wont even try anymore, but it takes all kinds, everyone here is really helpful, & the wide mix of crocheters means there is always someone who can help.

Sorry i took so long to get back in here ...its that time of yr. busy busy !!!  Thank you all for the nice warm welcome !
Im looking for a bootie pattern that can be worked up with chenille thick n quick yarn with the look of a anckle moccasin (without the fringe) ! I have tryed to kinda come up with my own (since i dont read patterns well) but thats not going so good so i thought id put it out here to see what i come up with , I would also welcome any easy bootie patterns ! My grandma always made us all our booties but she is 94 yrs old  and hasnt been able to crochet or quilt for a few yrs now !  Look forward to seeing what you all have in lines of patterns !
And about the link ...can I send a private message to one of you please ? Thanks again , be_kind
