Undecided Embarrassed Okay I need some major help! I HAVE NOT CROCHETED SINCE JULY!!! I just started high school so I am still getting back into the school spirit, homework, and tests. I have been majorly distracted from crocheting. The thing is, I feel to bored to crochet! And for me, the best time to crochet is the fall and winter, like for the holidays. How do I get excited for crocheting? Need help and a lot of advice!!!
Oh and here is my geting to know you bit:
I am 13 years old, from NY, and turning 14 in December. Crocheting gets me happy and lets me have something to do when I am bored at times. I am a freshman in high school. Oh yeah and Im a girl, haha in case you didnt know! I LOVE crocheting....oh and I am sorry I havent posted anything up in months, just been busy forever! Im trying to get back into the groove of things, and one step forward is posting stuff on this site either everyday or every other day. Looking forward to chatting and posting with everyone soon! =D

First of all...welcome back!  I find that for me, when I get bored with crochet...I spend alot of time looking at patterns and sooner or later, I come across a pattern that I just MUST try.......and that gets the motivation going again!

I agree with Bende & Carol, but I'd add to it, try something you haven't tried before, but on a small scale, something you can finish quickly so you get that "yeah look what I made" feeling, rather than trying to tackle a big project you'll get sick of before its done.

If you've never worked with thread, try it on a small project like a bookmark or an ornament (I just started my first thread project, the skills are the same, but the challenge is working with something so small).

If you have never worked in rounds try it on something quick, like a dishcloth, or a quick hat, it is complete different from working in rows.

Ravelry is a great source for patterns & you can filter it so you only get free patterns.
If you want suggestions for a certain type of project, ask for recommendations, we are always willing to share our thoughts

I am with Bende and Carol! Cheesy I've had that where I just can't pick up a hook, but sooner or later, I'll find a pattern to try. That never means that I will FINISH it.... Tongue Wink

I also agree with the previous comments.Just look for "right" pattern, or switch to another handmade craft. I supose that sooner or later you will come back to the crochet. I didn't crochet for a few years and back just lately.
Anyway, Good luck in all your beginnings
