Get hooked! It's fun!

« on: July 21, 2009, 10:19:56 AM »

I just signed in and registered on Saturday Night/Morning (real early) during one of my 12 hour shifts at work.  It took a little doing on my part to figure out how to upload the picture of the doily that I'm working on and lost my pattern.  If anyone can help me out, who might have a Magic Crochet Magizine from around 1993, and had this pattern, please let me know.  I really hate to rip things out, especially when I've done something as dumb as lose the pattern and magazine.

A little bit about myself, I started to really crochet in 1989 when I quit smoking.  I've been smoke free for 20 years.  Hurray!  That first year that I quit, I believe I crocheted and cross stitched myself around the world 3 times.  I like to crochet doilies.  I've done Xmas ornaments, winter scarfs, a doll, a christening gown, doily-type collars, a sweater, a top, several baby blankets, booties and bonnets, and when I got married, I crocheted a diamond or heart-shaped ornament decorated with ribbon, pearls and rose buds, my garter, my card bag which had beads crocheted throughout the front, a bowl for each table which my girlfriend put a dried flower arrangement in each one, and a fillgree doily with two swans facing each other with the words "Love One Another" crocheted in it along with hearts down each side, which is large enough to cover that back of a sofa or the top of a piano.  I've cross-stitched several pictures and a full-size quilt along with quilting it which I also enjoy to do.  When I get the chance, I'll take some more pictures and add them to be folder to add to my profile.

While I was quitting smoking, I gave most everything away and only kept a few things for myself.  Since my son is now 11 going on 12, I now have some time that I can start back up crocheting again.  And look what I went an done, I lost the pattern along with the magazine  Not starting out too well.

So, any one that can help me out, I would deeply appreciate it.

Thanks!

Doreen
