Anyone have any problems with wrist pain with all the crocheting?  If so...what do you do to help the pain?

Lately, I've been having pain near the bottom of my thumb area into the wrist, and I'm beginning to think it's not arthritis.  I'm thinking carpal tunnel...and I've read about people using wrist supports.  I'm thinking of buying one at the drugstore to see if it helps.

My fingers and hands tend to hurt most of the time from all the crocheting I do and some arthritis.  I just continue doing whatever I'm doing because I sure wouldn't want them to stiffen up from lack of use.

I guess since I haven't been doing it as long as you have.  I don't have any pains YET.  LOL.  I do get neck aches though sometimes when crocheting.  I thinks it's just from being tense hoping I'm doing it right.  LOL.

I do the same thing Bonnie when it's arthritis...for the same reason, I don't want it to stiffen.  And if it's arthritis, the exercise of my hands actually helps........this pain is different...and that's why I was asking because you HAVE to stop crocheting coz the pain is very sharp.  I hold my hook like a pencil, so what I do when I start getting the sharp pain is start holding it like a knife and that way, I'm not moving my hand the same way and it doesn't hurt as much, just makes me slower..LOL

I think I'm going to buy a wrist splint and see if that helps.

Well then, maybe trying a wrist support would be a good thing;
