Get hooked! It's fun!

« on: April 16, 2010, 12:30:10 AM »

Boy, amd I wishing I could find about an 1 hour to crochet or knit.  I'm dying here.  Eveyone is working on such beautiful things.  I've been so busy with by son this week, I've only gotten 2 lunch hours in at my local yarn shop, Lamb's Wool, to work on the sweater I'm knitting.  I get out my purse that I'm working on in the car in case I stop for traffic, which seems to be the norm lately, and do a stitch here or there on it.  At night, when I finally get to sit down, I am faithful and get out my crocheting or knitting, sit it on my lap with hook/needles in my hand but that's about as far as it gets.  I then zonk out.  I crash until about 1 AM, wake up, it's time to start the coffee for my hubby and I pack his lunches.  I then jump in the shower, jump into bed with hook/needles in hand again and gues what happens.  I zonk out again.  I don't think I even get two stitches done.  Very depressing for me lately.  I guess I am really "hooked".  I feel like screaming because I haven't done anything for three days.   AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!  I need my fix.  Gotta crochet or knit.   AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

On the other note, I've been busy doing some great things for my son.   Getting him ready for his big camping weekend with the Boy Scouts.  He leaves Friday night for they're "Shooting/Archer" weekend.  I knot he'll have a blast.  I've been doing alot of extra running for him just trying to get some last minute things for him.  Not to say anything for fighting traffic here in Lansdale Land lately.  Between two of the major roads in and out of Lansdale be screwed up with "destruction" of the roads and not being able to get anywhere quickly is just driving everyone nuts.  Whereever  you are heading, expect to sit.  That's not even saying if there's an accident, which happened yesterday.  Things were really messes up around here street/travel wise.   All I wanted to do is get a cup of coffe.  A cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee.  I don't care about he donut, just the coffee.  Well, needless to say I had to wait until lunchtime to get that cup of coffee.  Talk about jonesing.  Gosh.

We also had his Spring Band Concert tonight, Thursday night.  They were really great.  The North Penn School District does such a great job with their students especially in the music department.  They've always been fabulous in this department, even when I went school.  The North Penn Knights were always winning band competitions.  I didn't go to North Penn, I went to Pennridge and we were always battling with them at the Battle of the Bands.  We did give them a run for their money.

Well hopefully tomorrow night/tonight, Friday Night, after I drop my son off, I'll be able to do some crocheting/knitting for a change and hopefully not fall asleep.  I doubt it, I most likely will be sleeping.  Been seeing alot of the back of my eyelids lately.

Just think of it this way - you're resting up to really burn those needles up when you finally do get to work on it - haha. Cheesy  Hope everything calms down for you soon - sounds like you'll have some time this weekend with your son gone for awhile!

It sounds to me like you have some busy and fabulous days ahead. Hooks and needles are faithful friends and calmly queitly wait for us to find some time for them. Boys however demand our attention now! ... I've raised a few. Nice to have a fellow scout mom, although that was some years ago now. Thanks for the memories!!! LOL

Oh my goodness I hear ya and feel the "pain".  Been there and done that routine myself  BUT you always have something to look forward to (hooks and needles) when the time presents itself.  In the meantime you are living life to its fullest, as my Mom would say, and that is what you are meant to do.  Hang in there.  I am in an unwanted seperation from my own hooks and needles but I am trying hard not to let it make me crazy.  Sooon...soooon....  Wink Grin

Thanks ladies for listening!

Oh, by the way, I was just hit first thing this morning when I arrived at work with the "What are you going to do with Johnn next week?"  I was told that this morning's headlines in the local paper stated that the North Penn School District is going to strike on Monday Morning.......   I'm so glad my shoulders are pretty wide (not the way I want them to be physically which is how they are at this time in my life), they are getting hit with everything this week.  Maybe I can lessen the size with all this going, highly doubt it, but there's hope....     That New Moon......it sure is making me nuts this week.

I am definitely yearning for those hooks and needles.   Maybe I can get my Calgon moment at lunchtime today......I'm sure hoping.   It will definitely help me "unravel" a little bit.....no pun intended.

I'm hoping my babbling days here are coming to an end soon and can be crocheting/knitting them away.  When I get a moment, I will post some mid-way project photos.....can't promise you when that will be.....hopefully soon.

nuts! ...trials and tribulations...when it rains it pours is a truism.  When it all settles down to peaceful and right with the world you will feel so exhilerated that you will enjoy your needlework even more than you thought!

You sound like me.  After Payton finally gets to bed, I sit in my recliner with hook & thread in hand, then I fall asleep - then wake up about 2 & go to bed.  I used to crochet while stopped at stoplights but since we moved all of my driving is on the interstate!  Good luck with getting more time!  I always take it to work with me in hopes I can get a lunch break to crochet during.

Time is of the essence for some of us.
I try to get time to crochet when I possibly can.
I notice I'm not as busy as you are, though.
Hope you can get time though!

OMG your schedule wears me out just reading about it.  I have not been crocheting much either & I am no where near as busy as you!

You'll get the time you need & appreciate it when you do.

Well, after I got done dropping my son off for his weekend camping trip, I get home to a phone call that my brother's wife, Norma Jean, went in the hospital with several blood clots in her lung(s).  She's 44 years of age and this blood clot thing is hereditary in her family.   A couple of years ago she had several in her legs and the Drs. at that time put filters in her legs and stomach.  This morning they are going to go in her lungs to break up the clots because she has so many of them.

As indicated earlier, her one daughter, Jen, is stationed on the USS Bush and the other lives in Maryland and is Army Reserves.  My brother, Russell, was able to get in touch with both of them this morning to let them know.

Any extra prayers would be helpful.  Thanks.

Trials seem to be weighing heavily on our group today. Isn't it wonderful that prayers are limitless. Norma Jean is in mine as are you and your family.
