Watermelon rug question

Those of you that have done the watermelon rug....I think marie and shari...the pattern calls for 56 oz of red...did it really take that much......
it seems like an awful lot, unless the rug is bigger than I thought...

it only takes about 20 - i have tons of the color papaya or something like that left. luckily it is a nice color so i can use it for something else.

Bende one skein of each color is more than enough. I bought two of each color cause it says to use two strands at a time but I had alot left over that's for sure.
That's why my tote is green and beige color. LOL
