Get hooked! It's fun!

« on: October 22, 2009, 08:59:51 AM »

About 2-3 days ago, I was looking through forums and on-line companies; i.e., Lions Brand, etc., and I was looking at photos/patterns that I thought I would like to make in the future after I'm all done with the Christmas Gifts.  I came across a photo of a girl standing outside with this Shaw/Wrap on that had pineapples done it. The Shaw/Wrap was fairly large.  It looked like is hung down about the mid-thigh and it looked like it was about somewhere between 24"-36" wide.  I didnt' see a pattern and I said to myself, "Self, I want to remember this to make one day."  Well, of course, I already can't remember where I was looking at it.  Something tells me it was knitted which made me hesitate on it because I'd have to take classes again on knitting because it's been too long since I've done that.  It was really beautiful and I'm thinking about making it after the holidays for myself.  Does anyone remember seeing this?  The girl was wearing a light cream colored dress and the Shaw/Wrap was also either cream or white colored.  Something tells me that it was something called lace, maybe an Irish Lace, I'm not sure.  If anyone remembers seeing this, can you point me in the right direction.

Thank you for your help.  They are not the ones I saw.  The one that I saw was rectangular in style.  It looked like a scarf but really huge, more like a wrap.  I'm so mad I myself that I didn't mark it or save it as a favorite.  I'm kicking myself.  It was really different.  It was late at night when I was looking and I tend to click too fast and forgot to mark it.   I've seen the ones you have listed and they are all so pretty, but there was just something so different about this one.  If I come across it, I will post it for everyone.  Thank you again.

Search ravelry for "pineapple" under shawls/wraps, there are several large rectangular ones.

I have done won doing it in a soft yarn and I believe it was a J or K hook.  But the thing was supposed to be done in thread and it was for the back of a chair.  I will see if I can find the pic and post it.  It was also done in pineapples.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.  I don't think I've seen the one that I was looking for, but after LaraKN's suggestion of looking at Ravelry, I'm really confused.  There are so many pretty, beautiful and really neat shawls, wraps, ponchos, sweaters, etc.  I came across the following that I wlil have to attempt to make at least one, but I don't know which one to choose.  I have a couple months before I decide but it's a real toss up.

Thanks for everyone's help.  I really appreciated it.

Remember my request for help in finding this.  Well, I finally found it.  It's the Irish Cables Shawl & Bolero Shrug Patter.  I found it in Annie's Attic and have since found it elsewhere also.  It's not free so I ordered.  Annie's Attic has it in the clearance section so I got it.  I won't be able to work on it until after the holidays, but this is one of those have to's.  I was wrong about the pineapples but in the photo that I originally saw, it was so small it looked like pineapples....with me and my bifocals!@#($(*#&%(.

Below is the website and the photo that is in Annie's Attic if anyone is interested.  Again thank you to everyone that tried to help me find it.
