Well I'm in northern Virginia and we're expecting at most 24 inches of snow. Although I'm from the north so used to snow but still that's a lot of snow! Nothing I love more than snow/rain and curled up with a blanket and crocheting. I'm really excited to work on my afghan. Hope I get a lot done today. I already told my husband that I'm doing this when he comes home and sees me being lazy on the couch he's not shocked, ha ha.

Wow that is a lot of snow. I agree with you. It is nice to curl up on the couch and crochet and watch the snow fall.
Have a great time and let us know how it turned out.

I was born (or as my brother used to say, hatched) in D.C. and grew up in Arlington, Va and I can remember the snows we used to get so many years ago. Living in Georgia, I miss the snow, at times, because we normally don't get much in the Atlanta area. Would love to have a nice snow storm, haven't had a good one since 1993. No ice, just snow.
Stay safe and warm.

Stay warm and snug and safe inside! Hooking is especially fun on snow days. I'm from Northern MI (waaay up north) so snow every day for 6 months straight is the norm but YES 24" at once IS alot of snow!!! Getting a light but steady rain down here in Western KY but they are whispering about maybe an inch of snow tonight. Looks like my little violas /violets will get their blooms chilled for the 2nd time in a week. I'll get excited for YOUR storm from a distance LOL and look for pics of the pretty scenery on the TV news. Post some pics of your own if you can. Nothin' prettier than a good old fashioned snowfall on the landscape!

Have fun with all that snow. It's just gonna miss us up here in Erie, PA, thank goodness. We already got nailed good this year. I think I'm gonna sit on the couch and crochet all weekend too, although I don't need a good reason like the weather to convince me to do it

yeah I'm going to try to get pictures tomorrow, I need to charge my camera so I can take pictures even. I did get some work done today and then cleaning a little then a lot of hooking (that sounds bad) I hope I can get a lot done. Where Up north in Michigan are you? I love Northern Michigan, although I've only visited, haven't really spent to much time in there.

Lived 40 years in the Traverse City area (north of TC). Early years in the Chain of Lakes (surrounded by inland lakes and rivers) and the last 18 years on Lake Michigan (East Arm of the Grand Traverse Bay). Most of the time we lived in the country / woods but the last 18 yrs we lived in the tiny Village of Elk Rapids with the Elk River on one side of us and the Bay on the other side of us. Breathtakingly beautiful but severe and long winters. Got tired of being cold, pushing snow and having maybe 3 whole months of "nice" weather. Relocated to KY just this past August. The nice thing is that the land around us now is so much like the woods and farmland of northern MI and Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley (Tennessee and Columbia Rivers) are just minutes from our farm...and of course the climate is much more temperate even though we have 4 distinct seasons. I do miss the clear blue waters of MI, though, and the magnificent sunsets.

I frogged it but wasn't that much, only like 8 rows. Which is good b/c I'm using the same yarn in the other afghan. I'm using a simpler pattern and the one I thought it was to begin with. I started it today and already can tell a difference!

We had alot of snow here in PA. 2 feet. It was a bit much. The kids were out of school Wed thru Frid last week and don't go back until Tuesday and we're suppose to get a possible 4-8" on top of what we have. I did alot of crocheting between the snowblowing and shoveling....more shoveling than crocheting though.

OMG!!!! That is more than "a bit" much!!! You have my sympathy! I can well imagine that you pushed more snow than you did crocheting. Stay warm and we'll hope it melts sooner than later.

We''ll it's not melting quickly and we just got another inch or two this morning. Boy, when Punxatauny Phil does not see his shadow, he surely does not see his shadow. He must of really put the "mojo" on us this year. I think we need a new groundhog "Phli".
The kids are really liking this and getting to go sledding. I took my son and his two friends yesterday, but for some reason, they found more mud than snow. They were covered with mud from head to tow. Had to wash their snowpants and coats before I could have their parents pick them up or they probably would have never been allowed to come over again. They were a real mess.......but they had alot of fun.
