Hi everyone! It's been some time since I've been here but I need some advice. I have made a friend a ripple Christmas afghan that fits just to the edges of a full size bed or makes a good decoration for the back of a regular size couch. Ok, I am going to make some matching pieces but not as big. These pieces will not be as wide nor as long. They will fit on the back of a chair, etc. This afghan/throw that I made her is made with ten rows each of 3 colors with 2 rows of white between each change of color.  Now, my question is, when I make the smaller pieces, should the colors be 10 rows like the one they are suppose to match or should they have less rows per color? In other words, should I make the stripes the same depth as the one I will be matching? All of these pieces will be in the same room and to me, it seems like they won't match if I don't put the ten rows per color in them like the one they are suppose to be matching. I mentioned I was going to make this to my husband and he seems to think I should do it different because they are not as wide as the original. I had not thought about this but he could be right, I don't know but this is why I'm asking. What's your opinion?

Yeah, ten rows for something smaller...maybe you could go down some rows in each colors. Then you'd use them a little more often. Also, if you use the same colors, and they look practically the same (except for the row #)...well, people would think you did it on purpose. The other piece is smaller...therefore, there should be smaller rows. But it's all in what you want to do, of course. GL!
