Hallo everyone, I have just registered. I have been crocheting on and off since I was a kid, lately I discovered Irish crochet and I am having a hand at that, making simple things like flowers and learning the technique.
I love making mini 'things' like small crocheted keepsake bags etc and have just bought a lovely pattern for a crocheted heart sachet. I have finished it and it really is lovely but I have a problem with the last two rows; i'll try to explain the pattern and hope someone will help me out
the sachet has a shell border on both sides with some chain sts through which a ribbon will be inserted when the sachet is finished, the 'heart' filling stitch is a net stitch, the loops decrease by one each row and at the end of the heart am left with a shell border on left, a loop stitch in the middle and a shell border on right. I think that to get a nice heart shape I should only have one shell stitch at the bottom but I have 2 instead and I really do not understand the pattern explanation on how to finish off . I type here what the pattern says for the last couple of rows...
" continue in this manner, having one loop less on each row until 1 loop remains. Last row, shell over shell, ch 3, skip next sp, sc in next loop, ch 3, 2 dc in sp of next shell, ch 1, sl st in sp of last shell made, ch 1, 2 dc in same shell where last 2 dc were made, ch 5, turn, sc in joining of last 2 shells. Break off."
Thank you for your help!
