Shocked I am making a baby afghan that i found at the library and it's worked in panels.. (6 each) and then has edging included.. it says work 152 sc evenly spaced across ends of rows, i have no idea how to do this..  then it says working in free loops of beginning chain, 3 sc in chain at base of first sc, sc in each chain across to last chain. i guess is understand that part but how do i work the sc in the side of the afghan, i dont know where to put the stitches.. says end of row.. im confused and tired haha
thank you in advance for your help.. hugs and merry Christmas

From what I understand is the sides you just sc along the edges.  What I do is stick my hook in a stitch, then sc in that stitch.

Wish I could show you, it would be so much easier to show, then it is to tell.

ok i tried to last night and on one side i crocheted 2 sc in each stitch and came out with exactly 152 which was perfect.. the other side was about 20 crochets two short... did i do something wrong? or do i just come up with a x amount of stitches to make the 152 work?

my granny taught me how to crochet years ago but she's gone now and i'm feeling so lost without her and her guidance but trying to carry on the tradition of the baby getting an afghan..
thank you for your help

merry Christmas everyone

how many stitches would you end up with if you just did 1 sc in each st on the side?  Would you come up with 152 stitches total., because it says 152 stitches total.

ya know what? if i had tried crocheting once in each stitch i would know how many i need.. lol there was a common sense answer to this.. i think there are like 80 some odd rows.. but i will do just that.. sc once and then add to make the 152 .. thank you so much for your help Grin
