This was for my mom and I so badly want to make this for her but it's giving me such trouble. I'm so done with it.
This is my second afghan and i've never had this problem with my first one.. well I did but at the end of it so I left it seeing as it was only 4 rows that did it.

Please help me any way you can!

Are you using the correct number of stitches to decrease and are you being sure to skip the first stitch of each new row (I'm sure you are but thought I'd asked anyway)?    I have crocheted this pattern before.  I love to do ripple afghans but have always found that if I don't count my stitches, I will make a mistake.

I went back and looked again at the picture and it looks like you made a mistake back 5 or 6 rows too or else it is the picture.   But it also looks like your peaks and valleys match up so I'm at a lost to what you could be doing wrong.

I always count as I go otherwise I'll just double crochet the whole thing, and I went back to double count as well..

Wow - could you take a better picture of the part that is going goofy - it's a bit blurry - maybe that will help for us to see that part better.  I know that it's very frustrating for an item to start screwing up when you've done so much of it - maybe let it sit overnight and try again tomorrow - that usually helps me to see it with "fresh eyes".  Great choice in colors though - I know that your mom will love it!!!!

Thanks, although I've let it sit for a few days and try it again and yet I mess up again. I have no idea. Someone else had trouble with the pattern but i hadn't before. I'm not sure if I'm messing it up this time or the first time was a fluke that it turned out.

I remember doing my first ripple and I over increased. I gave up, but it's still hanging around in some box. My problem was that I hadn't counted the stitches. Tongue Silly mistakes ruin everything. And it was that same pattern that you are doing, too.  Embarrassed And I think it was a counting problem, but to be honest, I'm not too sure.

Lady is right, you made a mistake back a few rows or so.  From what I see, you were doing 9 stitches ar the end of a row (after the "point") and then dopped a stitch somewhere and started doing 8 stitches.

My advice is don't give up.  Put it aside for a bit, then pick it back up and count your stitches carefully.  Once you see where you are loosing (or gaining) a stitch at the end of a row, it will all start to make sense and you will be a pro at this pattern.

Good luck!
