I made a stadium blanket for our oldest son a couple of years ago - done in all single crochet.  Unfortunately, a dog ate a hole in it.  I've never had to repair anything before.  Can anyone tell me how to fix it?  Do I try to crochet it back together (not sure how to do that) or do I crochet a "patch" and sew it on?  I'm open to suggestions.  I'd love to have it under the Christmas tree.  Thanks for your help!

Hopefully the hole isn't too big.  Very carefully lay it out so you can see the stitches, put a safety pin in each of the bottom stitches of the hole to avoid them from running any farther.  Attach yarn to the lowest one and crochet across, catch it at the opposite side of the hole, turning and catching each stitch at the edge of the hole, tieing the ends on to the yarn your working with  When you get to the top of the hole using a yarn needle catch each stitch with the one below it that you just made.  weave in the ends of the yarn you had to attach.  Good luck Smiley

Good answer from Angie and yes---good luck!  It is tedious and may test one's patience so take your time.
