As promised a question for all you thread workers out there!

I don't know if anyone here Cro-tats but I recently started with some ordinary  yarn and a normal hook and had no trouble.  The result was rather chunky and large but the basic prinicples were in place.  So I decided to have a go at cro tatting with thread and proper hook.  I'm using the same successfully worked pattern and the recommended thread (3 ply) and hook (1mm).  Try as I might I can not get the blooming stiches to slip off the hook!  I've tried loosening the stitches, working them further up the hook where it's wider, I've even tried pulling them off with out pulling the thread through the middle!  Nothing works!  If I do manage to get two or three stiches off then I invarabley lose my grip on the thread being pulled through the middle as the hook is so fine and the whole thing falls apart!

Does anyone have a fail safe method?  For now I've thrown the whole thing down in a pet and am working nice simple granny squares to calm myself down.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
