I found intermeshing in one book...have any one of you ever heard of it? And if so, could you explain it to me?

yup!  gotta look into this...and the Bosnian crochet textures and color combos is another one for a look-see.

I like the link, but I don't understand how you get them to go together. But on the link, they have a picture of double filet #2. Can someone explain how to do this and get the things to run together? Thanks again!
