Bavarian crochet

Just wanted to know if anyone knows how to do this? I've received an email from Annies Attic about a book that teaches this, and it looks kinda interesting. If you know how to do this - can you tell me - is it pretty simple to learn? I guess I just want to know if it's worth buying the book to learn the technique. Thanks!

I have not done this technique but it sure looks interesting---and with some nicely textured stitches and a unique design look. I don't know if it is exactly the same as what Annie's book would show for technique / procedures but look at this link and the (free) info for the basic "wheel stitch" AKA "Catherine's Wheel". http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/2009/06/crochet-wheel-stitch-square-catherines.html A backpost double or treble stitch is generally used to create the squares, rectangles, triangles, etc. when they are worked over the edges of the basic wheel stitch, as I understand it.
