Hi all.  I'm stumped.  My grandson asked if I can crochet a "small" dinosaur for him to stick in his backpack.  I've looked high and low and can't find just a simple, quick pattern.  He asked me a couple of weeks ago.  I figured he forgot by now, but nooooo.  I went to see him off on his first day of school this morning (first grade) and the first words out of his mouth was "did you bring the dinosaur".  I told him I was still figuring it out.  Embarrassed.  Never thought it would be so hard to find a simple pattern for this.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

The dino here is done separately from the sweater. Perhaps the size would be right if done in thread or even a smaller hook size.

You may have seen these already.  The Planet June links look like pretty quick and easy patterns.

Thank you so much Tweed and Carol Ann.  I ended up making one "from my head" Shocked.  It came out ok, but I am hanging on to the patterns you sent me.  I have a feeling that when my other grandsons see it, I'll be making more.  I can never duplicate the one I made, as I don't know how the heck I made it.  These patterns are great.
