I'm working on a doily from Leisure Arts Coffee N Cream Doilies by Patricia Kristoffersen.
It's a pineapple pattern but the centre bit is complicated.  I got to round 11 when I discovered a mistake about two rounds back so am just about to rip it back to there. Sigh.................. Sad

Sounds like the knitted one I am attempting. If I had every row I've frogged it would drape nicely over the house!

I know the feeling of dispair with the doilies!  I love them but I have a harder time with doilies than ANYTHING else I make!  I frog endlessly! Tongue Roll Eyes  I will look forward to your excitement and sense of accomplishment when it is finished, Margaret!    And, KATHY--- take heart---ALL of my butterflies end up with one wing a bit larger (and a bit different LOL) than the other wing!  I CANNOT get my sizes to match no matter what I do.  I have no idea how I ever got my blue butterfly to have (almost) identical wings!

I need a good slump buster! I have several projects going and haven't done much of anything with them. Threads to weave, seams to sew, details to add. AWK!

Nutty you're still here! It's good to "see you" again.  Does Shari still come to the forum?
Don't hold your breath to see my doily  Grin  that said I've done two rounds today and it looks as though the next round is doable as well.
I'm not looking any further ahead than that at this point!

Welll, I'm happy to report that I've made some progress since yesterday.
I've just completed round 17 of the doily and looking ahead it doesn't seem to complicated now that I'm on the pineapple part of the pattern.
Only twenty rounds to go!  This thing measures up at 17 1/2" .  It's hardly what I think of as a doily.  What was I thinking  Huh
I spent a lot of time on here yesterday just looking at what everyone has made and I have to say you all do such lovely work and I'm inspired.
I'm just desperate to start something else but I'll keep plodding away with the doily for now.

Grin I am very excited about your doily!  A doily that size will make a lovely centerpiece on a table.  I can't wait to see it.

I have just three and a half rounds left to do on the doily but I'm biting my nails because I'm worried I am going to run out of thread!
If the worst comes to the worst the last two rounds will be done in a contrast colour.

I have found myself in this situation a few times and it is nerve racking to think I just may run out of thread and find I am crocheting just a little bit tighter with each st.  Cheesy
