Been kind of quiet around here so I'm wondering what everyone is working on lately! I'm working on a "french provential" afghan. Working on the last strip and then need to border the strips and join them all.......and for my breaks at work, I'm working on a baby onesie. So...what are you all working on ?

sounds like some nice projects to me. Looking forward to the pics. Nothing on my hooks and I'm trying to figure out what to line up for hooks and needles (if anything) since we will soon be gypsies living on the road for goodness knows how long...while we search for a new home. Presently in the midst of packing up this big old house in anticipation of leaving MI in a couple of weeks. All in all it is pretty frantic around here and any hooking in the near future is questionable.

Bende I'm looking forward to seeing your afghan and baby onesie. Ann are you making your baby monkey in thread?? I don't know why I asked LOL I'm sure it'll be adorable can't wait to see it! I've been making a thread Victorian Schoolgirl & dolly. I have all of the crochet parts done. I have to get the embroidery thread to make the hair on both. That's the part I find the hardest. Hopefully I'll get it done soon and I'll show you. I made the thread 20's doll & doggy awhile back...I'll pull it out of hiding and show you both dolls at the same time.

Yes Maria I am making it in thread AND the dolls you are making I have made them yrs ago. I love them! I have about 5 or 6 of the doll patterns. It is easier than you think to fix the hair on them...Can't wait to see pics!

sounds like everyone is busy i've not been doing much crochet since i finished all the pretty sachets for ann, i've been on holiday and i started a jacket for 'me' but i was having trouble with decreases at front and i frogged it so many times i got fed up with it, i've done fronts and back up to the decrease part but need a bit of peace and quiet to study the pattern for the rest and thats not easy come by in this house. we also bought a motorhome a few weeks ago and we have been busy cleaning and making our mark on it and hope to be 'on the road' with it next week and looking forward to spending many hours exploring parts of this country we haven't seen yet and of course there will be a bag of crochet in front with me while D/H drives lookng forward to seeing everyones works

Since I've lost the pattern to the doily that I have posted (I haven't given up on finding it or maybe someone else having the pattern), I started to crochet another doily with pineapples in it for my mother. I'll have to make her two for a matching set for her end tables. If I don't find the pattern I have posted that I lost, I might just attempt to create my own ending closure on it. That will be a new experience for me.
I just purchased another pound of cotton thread to make more doilies and a heavier cotten thread to make some dish clothes or wash clothes out of. I'm anxious to make the wash/dish clothes and see how they turn out. I've never made them before. They'll be light blue and dark blue in color. When you have a boy in the family, pink just doesn't cut it.
I really like the Round Ripple Afghan's that everyone made. I'm new the to forum and missed out on the pattern. I can get the jist of the pattern from the pictures, but I'm not sure how many double crochets it takes to start in the the center two rounds. Then it looks like you did a double crochet and chain "2" or so, around the third row. From there it looks like you worked a two or three double crochet shell in every other chain space. Then on the following rows you would work a shell in each shell chain two space and double crochet in each doulbe crochet around causing it to increase in size. If there's a pattern for this, I would appreciate. It looks like something I would like to eventually make. They are really pretty and would make great gifts.
Happy crocheting!
