I finished the bear and I wanted to attach it, but the file for the picture is too large.  Does anyone have any ideas?

What is a photo bucket?

Thanks for the link, but my photo is still too large for the auto "crop" and when I manually try to crop it,it won't let me crop just the background - I lose the top part or the bottom part of the breat.  When I try to decrease it in size, I again only see a small part of the bear.  I believe I folllowed the directions correctly, but maybe I missed something.

You can give www.pixcaboodle.com a try.....it's free and easy to use and made especially for the crochet and knit  forums.  If  you need help, there is a video help link to give you step by step instructions.

Photobucket is a website where you can store your photos ( you have to sign up for it but its free) It has directions to help you post your pics on other websites, blogs or forums.
Maybe you can try to resize how you take pics from your camera,I have a sony digital and I can change the pic size on it for email, this gives you a somewhat smaller size and it really does make a difference.Hope this helps you some,if not we will just keep trying until we get it right  Cheesy

Do you have any kind of photo program in your computer?  Many digital cameras provide the free software for a photo storing and editing program when you purchase the camera.  Mine is Canon's "Zoombrowser" but Kodak, etc. has the same type thing under different names.  I re-size my pics on my computer that way...crop and save the new size... and make good use of the "Size for e-mail" feature.  And, as Bende and Threadhooker suggested---you can sign up for free photo programs online and do it all there.  I Use Photobucket for uploading my already sized pics but you can do it right on Photobucket.  Of course the new PixCaboodle Photo Hosting that Bende set up on the Forum is as good or better than Photobucket.  **** If you want to---send me your picture file and I will re-size and post it for you---or re-size and return it to you for you to post.***  my e-mail is in my profile if you want to do that for now---while you figure out a method that works best for you Wink
