Get hooked! It's fun!

Hi eveyone and especially to Carol Anne who wanted to see a sample of this shawl.  I only have one motif 3/4's of the way done.  Keep in mind, you have to make 21 of these motifs and then you can start the cabling that goes around the out side that I have done only on one side of the sample made.  See photos below:

I was thinking this might be a good project to work on during my travelling to VA the first weekend in May.  It's little motifs to work on and nothing really huge and bulky.

It seems like an "ambitious" project but knowing you it will be done in no time!  Thanks for the pics!  I did look it up and remembered having seen it before.  I will look forward to seeing it come together.  A very interesting "look" and design.

I can't either Mrs. P.  It will be quite awhile before I can get to it to finish is.  I know I'll work on it May 1st weekend, but probably not enough to finish it.

Mimi, I'm going to make the shawl......I'm not sure if I'm going to put the fringe on the end or leave it plain.  I'm not too much of a fringe person.  I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.  I do know this will be one very long project for me and I'll be making several other things during its process.  I'm not one for making motifs (I get very bored with motifs) and I know this will be a real challenge for me.  But I'm ready for it.

I'm still also learning knitting so you can only image how many projects I have going at one time.  Right now, I'm working on the Leafy/Lettuce Purse (crocheted) (need to get done by April 30th), a doily (crocheted) (a thank you gift), knitting a sweater (for myself) and knitting a washcloth (which i've never had a washcloth take this long to make but that's okay, and I still have finished the Bible Bags which has been prolonged because I left my pattern up at my mothers which I will be picking up on Saturday.  I also have my sights set on learning to knit socks next week when my teacher gets back from her two week vacation....don't forget this shawl which has been really on hold and another sweater that I started to crochet and didn't get any further than about 6 rows.   I will get them all done eventually.....just not enough hours in a day.

Needless to say, I did not get to work on this project this past weekend.   Looks like it's on hold for a little while, again.
