What a happy, cute dog Cheesy  Like your colors and yes, I have done many doubled yarn projects, including blankets.  They can get rather heavy, especially in a solid st pattern but I am from a Northern climate so WARM is the goal.

Double is a must when the winter winds blow! What an adorable dog! I always wanted a Boston Terrier!

Your afghan looks so thick and warm. I've never made a double yarn blanket.

I love your BT, what a cutie. I've owned 3 BT's in my life...I just love them!!  Grin

Hi, guess this is an old topic but I thought I'd put my 2 cents in anyway.  I've made a few double strand round ripple afghans with an N hook.  The one I kept is nice and warm.  I made it out of several shades of purple and blended them together.  I lucked out on the yarn and had found a big stash at a thrift store.

I like using 2 strands; I'm all for anything to make it go faster.  My 1st round ripple was 2 strands w/ N hook.  My current 1 is w/ a K.  I've decided a M will be perfect.

I've done several afghan with two strands of Red Heart WW yarn.  I have given most of them away as gifts for family members and they just love them.  I made one as a long lapghan for the couch and it is sooo nice when the snow is falling outside.

I have made several afghans with double yarn.  They work up fast and are warm and hold their shape real good.
