Hi, This is my first post here.  I am finishing up a blanket for a toddler.  It is turning out so pretty!  I made it out of Paton's poochie yarn.  I really got into it before I noticed on the label that it should be hand laundered--not too practical.   Has anyone washed this type of yarn in the machine?  It's supposed to be dried flat too.  I wonder if it can be washed in one of those mesh bags and dried on low heat.

Grin Hi, Boksie  Glad to see you here, and posting.   No, I have not used Paton's Poochie so perhaps I am not a good one to advise.  But,  when it says hand launder and dry flat I am pretty sure that is the only way to be sure the blanket / yarn will not be messed up.  You MIGHT get away with a super gentle machine wash cycle in tepid water and MAYBE a fluff air no heat dryer cycle but it would still be damp and need to be shaped and lay flat to finish drying.  sorry Sad  I have seen many a nice item ruined in the machines and I have done it a time or two myself.  Angry

hi and welcome to the forum
i have never used the yarn in question but if it says hand wash then thats what i would do
i would rinse and contition in tepid water and fold  try to keep the best shape then roll in a clean towel to remove excess water then dry flat if possible
it would be a shame if something you worked so hard on is wasted in the first wash
please post a pic of the blanket we would love to see it
