hairpin crochet

  anyone know anything about hairpin crochet? ı can't find any details of measurements for the loom. and also the method where there is a long crochet hook and ı think  all the sts stay on the hook for one row and they are taken off on the next row. would this be the method known as 'speed method'. I am getting confused with all the different methods and being in Turkey the ladies just look at a picture and know how to do it so there is no instruction books as we know them, only pictures.
