does anyone ever have a bad pattern week? I must have tried like 10 different baby afghan patterns. one being my own and didnt work either so i unraveled it. i just spent the last 5 hours on a star pattern and notice its starting to bunch... and yay for me i have 13 points instead of 12 points. and the mistake is right at the begining. I give up. lol I was suppose to be finished this blanket for tomorrow.. but thats not happening. yeesh! lol

dont lose heart I had the same problem recently when doing the latest shawl
it was crochet three rounds unravel two seemed like i was never getting it done i think i tried every pattern i have to get the effect i wanted (i even resorted to buying a few)
in all it took me three months  and a few times it almost reached the garbage
but i did it and you will too it will be worth all the  hastle and heartache

lol yeah and it also doesnt help that im in pms... getting angry at the blasted thing! i want to still maybe try the star aghan again... but maybe i'll leave it for Monday! lol

Im usually pretty good at doing patterns... and the perfectionist that I am I cannot let a piece leave my house without it being 100% to my satisfaction. my sl sts are really bad i have no idea what im doing wrong but they always look sloppy.

always a good idea to have a break  when things dont go 'right '
then you will come back refreshed with a new attitude to it all but I understand the perfectionist I will not let any pattern beat me it just has to be as perfect as I can make it with sl sts i usually keep the yarn fairly tight but not so much that it puckers the row below hope this helps

That is some great advice. I have to try it...I think I used it on the recent blanket I've been making...it means I took a looooong break!!!!!!!!!!
