Get hooked! It's fun!

« on: August 24, 2009, 12:44:50 PM »

This isn't a story about a pattern go wrong, yet.........  But I'm working on the 8-pocket carryall tote bag.  I had just picked up the rest of the yarn that I had set aside at "the Lamb's Wool", in Lansdale, PA.  The lady that owns the store even had her husband but the cotton into balls for me.  I had them all in the bag and I was going to continue working on it when I got done checking the latest updates on the forum here.  Well, needless to say, my pups

I guess decided to help me.  They thought I needed to have my yarn unravelled.  They were playing tug of war sitting face to face with each other.  I was done on the computer and went into the living room and they each had the yarn hanging out of their mouths and looked at me with the "It wasn't me Mom" look.  It took me the rest of the night to untangle the mess that they made and put it in a ball by hand.   Fun, Not.  But if you could have seen the look on their face when I said, "What are you two doing with my yarn?"  GUILTY as charged.

Lesson learned.  Don't leave a bag of yarn sitting by a chair or a sofa.  I even had the bag tied shut, but Angel (the Bassett), knows how to get into anything.  That nose of hers........

Beautiful brown and white dog.  Is that a crocker spaniel?  So far haven't had my dog get into my crocheting.  But today, he chewed a hole in my husband's straw hat because we went off and left him alone.  Guess he got mad at us but he didn't bother my crocheting which was on the loveseat.

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  ahhhhhh, our babies---the pets.  So happy in their "helpful" antics.  I sure have been down that road with my cats and pups so your story brings a real smile of remembrance to my face.  Thanks for sharing.

They aren't so innocent some times.  They are very mischievious.  Yes LadyLacy, the brown and white iis a Cocker Spaniel.  We drove 4 hours to get her from Lock Haven, PA.  She is really a sweetheart.  Her name is "Sophie" and the Bassett is "Angel".   I should have taken a picture but I just wanted to get the yarn away before they made it any worse then it was.  As you know, you can't stay mad at them.  Love them dearly.

My dog has no interest in my crochet or yarn stuff, but the cat on the other hand.  She sits on my lap & everytime I pull yarn from the skein, believes it is for her to play with.

LaraKN:

Do you get much done with your kitten?  I call cats kittens because they are usually that playful all of their life.  I can only imagine trying to crochet or knit with a kitten on my lap.....tug of war.....right?

She is 10 & very much a kitten. Somedays it's a struggle to crochet with help, but we usually get into rhythm. If she gets tired or annoyed, she just lays on my skein & gives me dirty looks when I pull on it.
