Yes, it is sad, when good crochet goes bad...
Ok, it's not really sad at all, it's pretty darn funny!
As you may know, I was working on the basic socks to make for my husband's birthday.
Naturally, I was pressed for time so pretty much everything that could go wrong, did.
I had no foot measurements to work with- (I did actually try measuring his feet once while he slept- I don't recommend that.) So, I just followed the pattern- or thought I did.
I'm pretty certain the pattern did not suggest a ruffled cuff, but I managed one.. ONE mind you, not both. lol And, no it was not intentional.
On the first slipper, I thought 40 st was too many for the width of the leg, so the second slipper I tried 30 thinking I would just re-do the first one later if 30 looked better. Well, 30 somehow became 55 by the time I finished that part, creating a strange-looking pouch at the back of the leg. (I realized what I did wrong, haha I just had no idea it had slipped away from me so badly until it was time to sew the heel on.)
Anyway, long story short, I ran out of time trying to rip out stitches and correct all my mistakes, so this is what I presented my husband with on his birthday:

Well, he tried them on immediately and bless his heart, he pronounced them wonderful, comfortable and perfect, and not to mention, his favorite color.
My son and I have been snickering over these things for weeks, and my husband thinks they are the greatest things since sliced bread!
