For babies I use a G hook and for a regular lap or lounging afghan I use J hook.  Yours looks different in center, I will take a pic of one of the centers of mine so you can see.

I might need lots of help but yes, I'd love to have a go at this because I love the ones I've seen from Nutty.

Ok Nutty, I have one for you too -  Huh I started on mine but it is starting to lay in ripples - will it do that - (I'm on the 5th or 6th row) and then start to lay flat as I work more rows, or does is sound like I'm doing something wrong too - Mrs. P the pattern looks simple enough but I think we are over analyzing it or something & making silly mistakes  Embarrassed Embarrassed- haha!!

ok one last ? Nutty  to says to alternate large shell and small shell.  row 8 and row 9 both note large shell. so whould both those row be part of the 2 rows of each.  sorry if this sounds confusing..

Ok lv2crochet, yours should look like MrsP's., if your on round 5 or 6.  Now MrsP you need to do one round with small shell (which is round 7), then you do a large shell (for round 8 and 9).  And if you change colors, I always start my new color with round 7 (sm. shell), then do another color with large shells (round 8 and 9).

Here is a pic to show what I mean.  This first one is a close up.

The next one is of the different color change (the way I did it)
